大象传媒 Proms in the Park is delighted to announce that G4 have been added to the line-up for its tenth anniversary celebrations in Hyde Park, London on Saturday 10 September.

The four classically trained singers will join host Terry Wogan and the 大象传媒 Concert Orchestra on stage for the popular outdoor extravaganza, alongside top-selling Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli, teenage violin sensation Nicola Benedetti and the Royal Choral Society.

With their original operatic take on well-known pop classics including Bohemian Rhapsody and Everybody Hurts, G4 have developed a huge fanbase following their performances on TV's The X Factor.

Since then, the singers - who trained at London's Guildhall School of Music and Drama - have toured the UK and seen their debut album reach number one.

G4 say: "We are delighted to be taking part in such a great event on its tenth anniversary year. We have always watched the Proms and it is a dream come true to perform at Proms in the Park in front of 40,000 people.

"This year has been truly amazing for us and this is just the icing on the cake."

The afternoon entertainment in Hyde Park is presented by Radio 2's Ken Bruce and features Queen tribute band Gary Mullen and The Works, Canadian folk group La Bottine Souriante and swing classics from Clare Teal and the 大象传媒 Big Band.

Over the past ten years, Proms in the Park has established itself as an integral part of both the traditional Last Night of the Proms celebrations, and of the London social calendar.

The idea of holding an additional Prom in Hyde Park, to complement the events taking place at the Royal Albert Hall, was born out of a wish to extend the magic of the Last Night of the Proms to the widest possible audience.

The event has since grown to be a nationwide extravaganza with up to five cities taking part at a time, plus a family event in Hyde Park on the Sunday.

In 2005, there will again be events in London, Belfast, Swansea, Glasgow and Manchester, plus even more opportunities to join in via the 大象传媒 Big Screens in cities including Liverpool, Hull and Birmingham.

In total, almost a million people have passed through the gates at venues across the country.

Also for the first time, all the 大象传媒 orchestras will be taking part in the Last Night celebrations across the five park locations and the Royal Albert Hall.

This year also marks the centenary of Henry Wood's much loved Fantasia on British Sea-Songs, an integral part of the Last Night experience and a key feature of the Proms in the Park events.

Originally written to celebrate the centenary of the Battle of Trafalgar, the sequence this year sees the restoration of Henry Wood's original naval bugle-calls, which will provide the link between the park event in each nation and the Royal Albert Hall.
