大象传媒 Scotland has won the UK rights to transmit coverage of the Edinburgh 50,000 The Final Push concert from Edinburgh's Murrayfield Stadium on Wednesday 6 July.

Coverage of the show, which takes place on the first day of the G8 summit in Gleneagles, will be on television, radio and online.

News of the agreement follows the announcement that the 大象传媒 will be the host broadcaster for the Live 8 event four days earlier at Hyde Park.

Among the performers who have signed up for the Edinburgh concert are Texas, Travis, Annie Lennox, Snow Patrol, Ronan Keating, McFly, the Sugababes and Midge Ure.

Comedians Lenny Henry and Peter Kay will host the free concert which will be attended by up to 60,000 people.

Maggie Cunningham, Joint Head of Programmes and Services at 大象传媒 Scotland, says: "We are delighted that we will be bringing the best of Edinburgh 50,000 The Final Push to our audiences on television, radio and online.

"The day will live long in the memories of those who are lucky enough to get tickets for the big event.

"Our extensive coverage will ensure that millions more will be able to enjoy all the performances."

Scottish Radio Holdings have secured the rights for commercial radio coverage.

On 2 July, there will be coverage across 大象传媒 ONE, TWO and THREE as well as 大象传媒 Radios 1 and 2 and the 大象传媒 World Service from Hyde Park.

The 大象传媒 will work alongside other broadcasters in Europe and America to bring the huge international event to the world.

Concerts will take place simultaneously in London, Paris, Berlin, Rome and Philadelphia.
