大象传媒 Nations and Regions is at the forefront of pioneering a radical new way of making television.

Video journalism is capable of producing incredibly compelling content using small, hand-held digital cameras and laptop edits.

More than 600 大象传媒 staff have already been through training, changing the way that television news is made.

Now, for the first time, video journalists from across Europe are meeting at the 大象传媒's Video Journalism Centre in Newcastle to share ideas and showcase some of their work.

Journalists from countries such as Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands will attend the 大象传媒 conference to explore the creativity involved in this kind of filmmaking.

Managers from across Europe will also be in attendance to talk about the newsrooms of the future and the challenges and opportunities presented by an entirely VJ driven operation.

Lisa Lambden, Head of SON&R, Newcastle, says: "We know that as multi-channel television continues to develop, we have to find better ways of engaging with our audiences.

"Through video journalism, 大象传媒 Nations and Regions are setting a news agenda which matters to the audience and telling stories in a more intimate and engaging way and often with much greater access than can be achieved with conventional ways of working.

"We are delighted to be able to host this conference in Newcastle and look forward to exploring how these new ways of working are transforming newsrooms across Europe."

The European VJ Conference takes place at the 大象传媒's SON&R Centre in Newcastle on the Thursday 7 and Friday 8 July.
