大象传媒 Spotlight
will dedicate an entire programme to the Bovine TB crisis, broadcasting
live from two local farms hit by outbreaks, and will feature a special
report from New Zealand illustrating how other countries tackle TB in
cattle.
听
The show will be broadcast on Tuesday 12 July at 6.30pm
on 大象传媒 ONE in the 大象传媒 South West region.

Spotlight presenter Teresa Driscoll
says: "An Exeter University study found that for some farmers TB was
hurting them even more than the foot and mouth crisis, having led to
the slaughter of 22,000 cattle last year.
听
"This is a serious problem for thousands of Spotlight
viewers. Farmers are worried about their herds and their businesses;
animal lovers are worried about what will happen if badgers get the
blame for spreading TB.
听
"We'll have startling new information about the impact
of the disease and, hopefully, shed some new light on a problem in which
opinion is fiercely divided. We'll be hearing from farmers, wildlife
groups, experts and the Government."
听
There will also be special programming on 大象传媒 Radio
Devon and 大象传媒 Radio Cornwall, plus the chance to link up with others
affected by Bovine TB, or those who have strong views on it - via special
online messageboards on the 大象传媒 Where I Live websites for the two counties.
