A brand new series on 大象传媒 Radio Wales unearths the "flipside
of the rock and roll dream" in a humorous and enlightening autobiography
of one of the greatest rock and roll legends of all time.
听
The series, Deke Leonard
(Wednesday 3 August at 6.30pm on 大象传媒 Radio Wales), features the star
himself reading from his autobiography Maybe I Should Have Stayed in
Bed.
听
Born in Llanelli, Leonard built a career in Wales and
travelled worldwide playing as a solo artist and with his band Man,
who are regarded as the most successful cult band Wales has ever produced.
听
Leonard also developed the band Iceberg, who claimed
the late John Lennon as one of their biggest fans.
听
Leonard begins the tale with the recollection of his
discovery of rock and roll at the age of six. The tale then takes us
through the highs and lows of his career, from flower power in Swansea
to rocking with The Who.
听
The stories, both shocking and hilarious, are all entirely
true. The series presents an insightful account of when rock and roll
hit Wales, from a man who's met everyone, seen it all and got the scars
to prove it.
