Graeme Le Saux will join 大象传媒 Radio Five Live's football punditry team for the new football season.

The former England international, who recently retired from the game, will be joining Five Live's roster of commentators when the season kicks off with the Coca Cola leagues on 7 August and the Premiership on 13 August.

Five Live once again promises to bring to the listener an unrivalled array of coverage of every game, right through the season.

Last season, 2004/5, Five Live broadcast more football commentary and reports than any other broadcaster, commentating on 329 matches including Premiership, Coca Cola Cup, European, Scottish and womens' games - with a further 83 on sister station Five Live Sports Extra.

With a reporter at every game, Five Live has the most comprehensive coverage and expert analysis of the new season.

There will be input from key Premiership managers and players including Alan Curbishley, Matt Holland, Gary Speed and Kevin Campbell. Mark Clemmit also rounds up the Coca Cola leagues.

Five Live's expert team includes commentary from the the award-winning Alan Green, Chief Football Correspondent Mike Ingham, Jonathan Legard, Simon Brotherton, Nigel Adderley, John Murray, Ian Brown, Conor McNamara, Ian Dennis, Darren Fletcher and Jacqui Oatley.

Mark Saggers presents Sport on Five on weekday evenings (Monday to Thursday from 7.00 to 10.00pm). Mark Pougatch presents on Fridays (7.00-10.00pm) and Saturdays from noon.

Eleanor Oldroyd presents Sunday's Sport on Five from 1.00pm, bringing listeners all the action, results, interviews, and behind-the-scenes news.

Looking forward to England's busy qualification schedule in the run-up to the World Cup in Germany, the commentators are backed by an expert team of analysts including England internationals Terry Butcher, Chris Waddle and Jimmy Armfield as well as former England Manager Graham Taylor and former QPR and Chelsea player Gavin Peacock.

Once again 606 will be the essential phone-in debate programme on all the football action around the country from whatever league. Call 0800 909 693 to take part.
