Top boxer hits Radio Sheffield airwaves
Boxing champion Johnny Nelson is to hit the airwaves in September presenting a new sporting show on 大象传媒 Radio Sheffield.
听
The 38-year-old WBO Cruiserweight Champion - who already has TV presenting experience
with the 大象传媒 ONE documentary series Inside Out - will present Johnny Talks Sport between 8.00 and 10.00pm every Wednesday from 7 September.
听
Radio Sheffield Managing Editor Jake Fowler said he was delighted with his new signing.
听
He said: "Johnny is a well-known face in Yorkshire and has fantastic knowledge of all kinds of sport.
听
"The new show will involve Johnny talking about sport, taking part in personality sporting interviews, and analysis. We're expecting it to be very popular."
听
Nelson took up boxing in his teens in a bid to emulate his elder brother. In the early years he seemed a long way from becoming a boxing world champion and fought through some difficult times, in and out of the ring.
听
Born on 4 January 1967, he waited until his thirties to secure the WBO Cruiserweight title and has since remained champion for over six years.
