Richard Deverell, Acting Controller for C大象传媒, today announced a raft of new commissions to add an energising new twist to the broad mix of children's programmes on 大象传媒 Television.
听
Launching in April 2006, RU Game? is an ambitious new cross-platform daily magazine show for breakfast time which tackles children's universal experience of growing up and empowers them to meet life head on.
听
This hourly show will start transmitting in Spring 2006 every weekday morning.
听
Science is the subject under the spotlight in 101 Things To Do With Ice Cream (10 x 30 minutes for Autumn 2006).
听
This new format, to launch first as a web proposition, will take the audience on a journey of discovery of science fact and science trivia through witty and lateral connections.
听
Beat The Boss (5 x 30 minutes, Spring 2006) will celebrate children's entrepreneurial skills as they battle against the bosses to beat them at their own game.
听
Reem Nouss, Executive Editor for Magazine Programmes, will have overall responsibility for all three of these projects, which are being made by C大象传媒 in-house production.
听
Also commissioned is Newsround Investigates, a new title from the iconic Newsround portfolio, which will be occasional half-hours taking an in-depth, investigative look at issues which profoundly affect children's lives.
听
The first of these will transmit in Spring 2006 and intermittently throughout the year and Roy Milani is to executive produce.
听
All these new commissions are being made by C大象传媒 in-house production and were commissioned by outgoing controller Alison Sharman.
听
Richard Deverell, Acting Controller for C大象传媒, said: "I think these new commissions demonstrate our ambition to deliver programmes of great originality and distinctiveness.
听
"We've just overhauled our in-house commissioning to make it more inclusive and collaborative.
听
"This comes hot on the heels of the restructuring of our independent commissioning system which clarified and simplified the process for indies to ensure we are getting the best, most creative ideas through."
