Sarah Jessica Parker on Friday Night with Jonathan Ross

More Sex and the City? Maybe, says Sarah Jessica Parker

Friday Night with Jonathan Ross, 10.35pm, Friday 2 December 2005, 大象传媒 ONE (repeated Sunday, 大象传媒 THREE)

In an exclusive UK TV interview, Sex and the City star Sarah Jessica Parker talks about marriage, babies and life after Carrie with Jonathan Ross tonight (Friday 2 December).

"It was frank, a new voice on tv," she says of the series that made her a small screen icon.

She doesn't rule out a return to the role: "Not in the near future... but who knows? I wouldn't be opposed to it in the future - but we'd be quite old!"

Sarah makes it clear she's very different to her screen alter ego.

She says: "I'm the one person who's uncomfortable with [girlie chat]. It's not a moral compass or anything, I'm just not revealing about intimate things. I don't really talk about that stuff."

Sometimes, she says, she would feel uncomfortable about the show's forthright content: "Early on there was one scene... Carrie had been practising safe sex but couldn't retrieve her diaphragm and asked one of her friends."

She also talks about body image: "I'm hiding plenty of things... women of all sizes are beautiful when they feel good, it's a great mistake of the fashion industry to focus less on fuller figures. I find larger women really sexy."

On motherhood and her baby James, Sarah says: "I gained an awful amount of weight and enjoyed it. I wanted to be healthy. I nursed him for a really long time, I didn't worry too much about losing weight."

Her ideal Sunday would be "a little sleep for a change, a big breakfast, walking around our lovely city. Spending time with our lovely son is the best time I've had in my life, the happiest."

And on the possibility of more children: "We'll see. I'm from a big family, I love being from a big family. We would love to have another child [but] we feel lucky anyway."

Jonathan also welcomes to the show Emmerdale star Patsy Kensit who talks about her love for her family and ex-partners.

She says: "My kids are everything to me... I love Jim and Liam to bits, and I have a great relationship with their partners."

Patsy also reveals how much she enjoys her low-key life: "I've learnt a big lesson. I have a private life for the first time, but I don't regret anything."

And how she combines family life with the demands of filming: "I was only ever going on for three months [in Emmerdale], it could have gone badly wrong, I'm in until August next year."

She adds: "'It's hard, it's a wrench, I feel guilty a lot of the time [but] I'm never away more than three nights a week."

The show also includes funnyman Harry Hill and there's exclusive chat and music from Coldplay, performing new single Talk live in the studio.
