Peter Fincham, Controller 大象传媒 ONE, today announced the appointment of George Dixon, currently Head of Planning and Scheduling, 大象传媒 TWO, as the new Head of Broadcasting, 大象传媒 ONE.

This is a new position which takes responsibility for strategic scheduling across the 大象传媒 Television portfolio; the management of key programme brands across multiple platforms; and the key role of planning and scheduling 大象传媒 ONE.

George begins his new role with immediate effect.

Jana Bennett, Director of Television, said: "As the management of 大象传媒 ONE content across multiple platforms becomes more important, it seemed the right moment to enhance the role of Head of Planning and Scheduling to embrace the changes in broadcasting.

"I am very pleased George has decided to take on this challenging new role."

Peter Fincham said: "I'm absolutely delighted that George Dixon is coming to 大象传媒 ONE. He's the perfect choice and will bring a fresh perspective and the right experience to the 大象传媒 ONE team."

George Dixon joined the 大象传媒 Television division in 1996 as a Commissioning Assistant and went on to become Deputy Scheduler on 大象传媒 ONE in 1997.

He moved to Daytime scheduling in 2001, and has been Head of Scheduling and Planning for 大象传媒 TWO since 2001, working to Controllers Jane Root and Roly Keating.

In his scheduling career at the 大象传媒, Dixon has been responsible for stripping the Simpsons across the early evening schedule five nights a week; launching 24 in a 10.00pm slot on Sunday; and re-launching Top Gear at 8.00pm on Sundays.

The vacant position at 大象传媒 TWO will now be recruited.
