As part of their on-going commitment to bring the best comedy to 大象传媒 ONE audiences, Peter Fincham, Controller of 大象传媒 ONE, and Lucy Lumsden, Controller, Comedy Commissioning, have joined forces to give the go ahead to six new pilots.

The shows will be made this year and will combine some of the best on and off screen comedy talent including Jennifer Saunders, Ronni Ancona, Fred Barron and Simon Nye.

The commissions come from both in-house and independent comedy producers.

Peter Fincham said: "Piloting these shows is a great way for 大象传媒 ONE - and a breadth of amazing comedy talent - to try new ideas out.

"Some may work perfectly as one offs, whilst others may sustain longer runs.

"This is all about getting the best comedy for the 大象传媒 ONE audience."

Lucy Lumsden added: "Comedy on 大象传媒 ONE is a hard nut to crack but, if we get it right, we have shows that are loved by our viewers for many years to come.

"These pilots give our artists the breathing space they need to experiment with their ideas."

The pilots are:

Ronni Ancona: one of Britain's best loved comedians and actresses, Ronni Ancona takes centre stage in her own sketch show.

A 大象传媒 comedy production, produced by Jo Sargent and directed by Ed Bye.

They remain men, and a woman, with a mission: to cope with their various personality disorders, look heroic in uniform, and get very good at darts.

Written by Simon Nye and produced by Margot Gavan Duffy. A TalkbackThames production.

My Generation: a comedy about the lives of five geriatrics who prove that today's older generation are less about Horlicks and slippers than self-medication and exploiting the system.
