Blue Peter reveals new character for Shaun the Sheep
Bradley Lord, aged 11, from Essex, was announced as the winner of the Blue Peter Aardman competition live on 大象传媒 ONE.
听
Back in February, Aardman, the creators of award-winning Wallace and Gromit, asked Blue Peter viewers to design a character that will appear in the new series of Shaun the Sheep, coming up next year on C大象传媒.
听
The new character will replace Bitzer, the sheep dog who keeps an eye on the flock, in one of the 40 episodes.
听
The winner was told the news that his character - XX2000 Robot Dog - had won the contest in front of Blue Peter cameras yesterday (Monday 27 March) when presenter Matt Baker turned up at his home with an original framed drawing of Shaun the Sheep.
听
Bradley will also travel to the Aardman studio to see his character brought to life by their animation team.
听
The competition was judged by Blue Peter Editor Richard Marson, presenter Matt Baker, Supervising Director of Shaun the Sheep Richard Golezsowski and the creator of Wallace and Gromit, Oscar-winning Nick Park.
听
Richard Marson said: "As ever, Blue Peter viewers responded to this special challenge magnificently, and the huge response of 47,268 entries makes it our most popular competition in over a decade.
听
"We can't wait to see Bradley's design brought to life by Aardman."
听
Richard Goleszowski said: "The competition was a huge success and I was overwhelmed by the number and quality of the entries.
听
"It was a very hard decision to make but in the end we choose a design that best fitted the series.
听
"We are looking forward to making the winning design into a model and seeing it on screen."
