Two new Dragons enter the Den

Two new dragons join the fire breathing millionaire investors in the third series of 大象传媒 TWO's award-winning, Bafta-nominated Dragons' Den, presented by 大象传媒 Economics Editor Evan Davis.

The series offers budding entrepreneurs the opportunity to pitch their idea or product to the Dragons in the hope of persuading the millionaires to part with their own cash and invest.

New dragons Richard Farleigh and Deborah Meaden line up alongside Peter Jones, Duncan Bannatyne and Theo Paphitis. They'll come face to face with a fresh batch of hopeful dragon slayers seeking investment in the den.

Richard and Deborah replace Doug Richard and Rachel Elnaugh who leave the den to concentrate on their respective new business ventures.

New Dragon and Australian multi-millionaire Richard Farleigh is a full time business angel who has possibly invested in more new UK companies than any other British investor: from private members club Home House to technology company Wolfson. He first made his millions trading the world's financial markets.

Richard says: "What's exciting about Dragons' Den is the opportunity to come into contact with new entrepreneurs with innovative fresh ideas and hopefully uncover the next big thing!"

British multi-millionairess Deborah Meaden launched her own glass and ceramics export company straight out of business college, before setting up one of the first Stefanel fashion franchises in the UK.

She became Managing Director of her family's holiday park business Weststar Holidays, acquired the major shareholding in a management buyout and later sold the company in a deal worth 拢33m whilst retaining a 23% stake.

She still retains an active role at Weststar but is devoting more time to finding good investment opportunities, the first of which has been a market research company.

Deborah says: "It can be difficult to find investment for a new business, particularly one which is highly innovative or breaks new ground.

"Dragons' Den offers a great opportunity to new entrepreneurs and I'm really looking to finding some exciting new businesses in which to invest my money."

Commissioned by Roly Keating, Controller of 大象传媒 TWO, Jon Beazley, Controller of Entertainment, and Dominic Vallely, Executive Editor Entertainment, the new third series has been extended (8 x 60 minutes) and two follow-up documentaries have been commissioned, following the stories of the entrepreneurs from series two.

Roly Keating comments: "Richard and Deborah are formidable additions to the dragons den.

"With five of the country's sharpest business brains breathing fire in the den, it will get very hot in there and only the bravest and most impressive entrepreneurs will survive."

Helen Bullough, Managing Editor, 大象传媒 Entertainment Manchester and Executive Producer for the third series, says: "Richard and Deborah bring their vast business experience and expertise to the new series and there's no doubt they'll shake things up in the Dragons' Den!"
