Blue Peter badges back in business
Blue Peter announced today that the programme is introducing a new badge card system to protect free entry which had to be temporarily suspended in March when it was discovered that people were defrauding the system by selling badges online.
听
Blue Peter Editor Richard Marson said: "On Blue Peter many of the best ideas come directly from the audience and this was no exception.
听
"After we broke the news of the suspension, 11-year-old
Blue Peter viewer Helen Jennings wrote to us suggesting a card and
even included a prototype design.
听
"As a result, she's won
her silver badge and really helped all the genuine Blue Peter
badge winners out there who've been so upset at the suspension."
听
The badges will start to be sent out this week and will take up to 28 days to arrive. Previous badge winners will need to fill in a form on bbc.co.uk/bluepeter so they can be verified and a card sent.
听
There are nearly 200 attractions on the free entry
list and badge winners will need to show their unique card, complete
with their name and a Blue Peter ship hologram, to gain access. 听
There are six different badges to be won - blue, green, silver, gold, competition
winners and a new purple badge which will be introduced at the start of the
next season in September for children who become Blue Peter team players
- a scheme rather like a company board.
听
Each month, by filling in a special form on the show's website, 12 child viewers from all over the
UK could win the chance to spend a day with the Blue Peter team,
testing ideas and sharing their opinions and interests.
听
Marson added: "These Team Players will really help to shape our content and in return, as well as a great day out, they'll win this very special new badge."
听
Blue Peter awards around 800 badges every week.
听
Today's Blue Peter is on 大象传媒 ONE at 5.00pm.
