Rachel Innes-Lumsden, recently appointed to the new role of Creative Director of Development in Factual & Learning, has appointed Heads of Development to work in three of the 大象传媒's F&L's Studios.

They will report to Rachel Innes-Lumsden and the relevant Studio Head.

Alistair Pegg has been appointed as the Head of Development for Science and History working in the studio headed up by John Lynch.

Alistair Pegg has most recently been working as a Development Executive at Diverse. Before that, he was a Development Producer at RDF working on projects such as Ladette to Lady and Holiday Showdown.

Alistair says: "I'm thrilled about the prospect of coming to the 大象传媒 for the first time, and thrilled about joining Science and History, a studio that has set a world-class standard in its genre.

"I'm looking forward to leading its development effort by building on the studio's strengths and also taking it into some bold new areas."

Simon Rockell has been appointed as the Head of Development for Documentaries and Specialist Features working in the studio headed up by Sarah Hargreaves. He too comes from the independent sector, most recently working at RDF.

He has also worked at Twenty Twenty Television where he secured a number of commissions including Brat Camp and That'll Team 'Em.

He says: "The output of the 大象传媒 in terms of documentaries and specialist factual is incredibly diverse and there is a real opportunity to make shows that are both innovative and popular."

Helen Royle will be working in the Features and Formats studio, headed up by the recently appointed Bridget Boseley.

Helen has worked as a director, series producer and executive for the 大象传媒 as well as for Granada, working on a number of successful series including Poor Little Rich Girls, the For One Night Only strand and a number of one-off documentaries including Men in Tights and Too Scared for School.

She says: "Joining the newly established Features & Formats studio is an exciting challenge and I can't wait to get started."

Commenting on the appointments, Rachel Innes-Lumsden adds: "I'm pleased that we have appointed three such experienced and exciting Heads of Development.

"I feel confident that they can bring new approaches and fresh thinking which will help drive Factual & Learning into a multi-platform future."

The role of the three Heads of Development is to encourage bold and ambitious ideas with real scale for their studios as well as forging ahead with cross-genre and multi-platform development.

The post of Head of Development, Features and Documentaries, Birmingham still has to be filled.

Rachel Innes-Lumsden, alongside the Studio Heads, will provide creative leadership to the Heads of Development as well as overseeing a central cross-platform team. Each Head of Development will have a team reporting to them in their studio working closely with the central team.
