Radio Scotland Sportsound to offer seven-days a week MW and digital coverage

Sportsound - 大象传媒 Radio Scotland's flagship sports programme - is to expand its coverage of the Scottish football scene to offer news and match commentary on a daily basis.

The sports programme - presented by Richard Gordon - has, historically, proved popular on Saturday and Sundays but the increase in midweek games has also resulted in an appetite for more coverage throughout the week.

Sportsound will run from 7.15 to 10.00 every night on 810 MW and on digital radio and television from Monday 31 July 2006.

The weekday 90-minute programme's reputation for breaking stories will now be augmented by live match coverage plus news and analysis.

Jim Spence will alternate with Richard Gordon as presenter and - on evenings where there is no live match - the programme will follow a magazine format with news, discussion, packages and features, including Off the Ball.

Off the Ball also extends on a Saturday with a new start time of 12.30pm.

Tom Connor, Editor, Radio Sport, said: "Sportsound has enjoyed growing popularity in recent years and we felt we had to respond to this demand with an expanded service."
