The View, Jet and Klaxons light up the Barfly at 大象传媒 Electric Proms

Plus. The Young Knives. Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly. Scott Matthews. Larrikin Love. The Pigeon Detectives. and new music performances from Next Stage artists

Today the 大象传媒 announces the acts that will take over the Barfly in Camden for 大象传媒 Electric Proms from 25 to 29 October 2006.

大象传媒 Electric Proms is a music festival dedicated to creating new moments in music.

It will take place at the Roundhouse and satellite venues all over Camden, and encompass some of the most exciting sounds of the year.

The Barfly will host 大象传媒 Electric Proms double bills from some of the most exciting new artists performing in the UK.

Tweed-clad heroes The Young Knives, fresh from the success of their anthemic summer release Weekends and Bleak Days (Hot Summer) will perform on 25 October with the thrillingly ambitious Klaxons.

With a sound described by NME as "New Rave" the Klaxons' influences range from art rock to Nineties rave culture.

On 26 October Melbourne rockers Jet - whose single Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is was Zane Lowe's 'Hottest Record In The World'' - will perform tracks from their forthcoming album Shine On.

With every UK show they've ever played selling out, this will be one of the most sought after tickets at 大象传媒 Electric Proms.

Dundonian four-piece The View will also perform, fresh from building their army of fans over the summer with festival performances at Leeds and Reading, as well as their first UK headline tour.

Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly takes to the Barfly stage on 27 October. The 20-year-old Essex born Sam Duckworth, who performs with the aid of only a guitar and a laptop, will perform some of the music from his debut The Chronicles Of A Bohemian Teenager.

Meanwhile, Scott Matthews, who has been championed by Zane Lowe and Radio 1 and was a recent performer on Jo Whiley's Live Lounge, makes an appearance which will doubtless reaffirm why he's one of the most exciting new talents to have emerged from the Black Country in ages.

Indie bluegrass punk collective Larrikin Love are a band already making waves, having supported The Kooks and embarking on their own tour of the UK this Autumn.

They perform at the Barfly on 28 October, alongside Leeds lads The Pigeon Detectives, one of the UK's most entertaining live bands who will be aiming to knock the crowd out with their punchy rock 'n' roll sound.

On 29 October, a unique music event will take place at the Barfly - a packed day of new music performances from artists discovered by the 大象传媒 Electric Proms Next Stage team.

The Next Stage project has been running over the summer, searching for some of the UK's most exciting new and emerging talent who will get a platform to showcase their work in an eight-hour back to back music session.

Tickets for 大象传媒 Electric Proms gigs at the Barfly will cost just 拢5, and the gigs will be broadcast across 大象传媒 Radio 1 and 大象传媒 6 Music.

You will also be able to watch tracks from each set online at bbc.co.uk/electricproms as well as see the full line-up for the whole festival and find out more about broadcasts across the 大象传媒.
