Billie Piper tells Jonathan Ross about her life lived in public
Jonathan Ross talks to teen popstar-turned-actress Billie Piper about a life
lived in public when she joins him tonight on 大象传媒 ONE's Friday Night with Jonathan Ross.
听
In a frank conversation Billie talks about her career and marriage.
听
On why she turned her back on music she says: "It started to drive me mad after a while. I
wasn't a gifted singer, just a huge music fan. I felt like a charlatan, I
always wanted to act, I knew it wasn't going to last."
听
On her new-found fame in her award-winning role as Rose in 大象传媒 ONE's Doctor Who: "I remember
it being on [when I was young] but I wasn't really a fan . as soon as I read
the [first] script I thought I definitely want to be part of this."
听
And on the
changeover of Doctors from Christopher Ecclestone to David Tennant: "It was
sad, obviously, and then David came on and suddenly everything was all right
again."
听
How she feels now she has left: "It seems insane [but] I just wanted to try
something else. I'd done two years, I may have become complacent and fearful of
moving on. We couldn't stop crying, it's desperately sad, I feel like the ex!"
听
But she has not shut the door on returning: "'Go back? [possibly], that's the
glory of sci-fi."
听
And as for a movie: "All I've heard is a rumour . I would
definitely do it."
听
Billie also tells Jonathan about her relationship with Chris Evans: "I had to take some time off, and
then I met Chris Evans. I can understand you'd think it was weird."
听
And on her
complete change of lifestyle after their marriage: "I don't know how it
happened, it wasn't planned, it was brilliant. We weren't aware [of the press],
we were drunk quite a bit, go a week without a shower .. it feels good, not
having to worry about that kind of stuff."
听
When they broke up, she says: "We weren't angry
at each other, it was just not working out. Now we're best mates."
听
The show also includes transatlantic singing superstar Michael Ball; comedienne
and actress Catherine Tate, whose eponymous sketch show returns to 大象传媒 TV next
week; and comedian, actor and writer Jack Dee, whose first sitcom Lead Balloon is
about to debut on 大象传媒 TWO.
听
Plus, there's music from Kasabian performing their new
single Shoot the Runner live in the studio.
听
A Hotsauce TV/Open Mike production for 大象传媒 ONE.
