Radio 1 unveils new In New DJs We Trust line-up and 1Xtra announces new signing

大象传媒 Radio 1 today announced the new line-up of its dance music show In New DJs We Trust for 2007.
听
Professor Green and Mistress De Funk will join the roster in January 2007
alongside Kutski and Plastician.
听
The refreshed line-up for In New DJs We Trust will be the first of a series of six
monthly evolutions and will ensure Radio 1 continues to champion the most important new
dance music genres, whilst also giving new and emerging talent their first chance to
broadcast on national radio.
听
New signings Professor Green and Mistress de Funk will
succeed rising stars Crissy Criss and Tayo.
听
1Xtra also announced that Crissy Criss will join the station from Monday 8 January
2007 to host The M1X Show, 1Xtra's drum n bass show on Monday nights from
2 to 6am.
听
Meanwhile Tayo will continue his relationship with Radio 1 by deputising for Annie Mac
and other dance DJs on the station, as well as spinning on Radio 1's Essential Mix in
early 2007.
听

In New DJs We Trust broadcasts Friday nights, 2-4am. It is an
evolution of The Residency, a Saturday night dance music show that launched in May
2005 with six DJs - Eddie Halliwell, Nic Fanciulli, Jon O'Bir, Trophy Twins, Kutski and
Crissy Criss - broadcasting on a six weekly rotation. The Residency line-up evolved in
December 2005 seeing Plastician and Tayo succeed Nic Fanciulli and Jon O'Bir. In
September 2006, as part of changes to Radio 1's specialist schedule, two of
The Residency DJs gained their own shows: Eddie Halliwell on Thursday nights, midnight-2am,
and Radio 1's Aftershow with The Trophy Twins on Saturdays and Sundays, 4-7am.
In addition, The Residency format was succeeded by a new show In New DJs We Trust on
Friday nights, 2-4am with four DJs Kutski, Crissy Criss, Tayo and Plastician. The
new line-up commences Friday 5 January 2007, the next re-shuffle will be in July 2007.

Professor Green - aged 23 and from East London. He became obsessed with hip hop aged nine
and the underground rap battle scene opened up to him aged 18 when he first rhymed at a
freestyle jam session. Green went onto win the London rap battle Lyric Pad and then
graduated to key UK battle event The Jump Off, becoming the first to win six weekly
finals in a row before surpassing that feat with a seventh. He soon became a man to fear
on the battle circuit, and in 2005 won the chance to battle against US freestylers at
key hip hop event The Power Summit in the Bahamas for $50k prize money. Green beat US
contenders to win second place, an achievement that made his name as a formidable MC on
both sides of the Atlantic and impressed legendary artists like Busta Rhymes. Green met
Mike Skinner at the B-Boy Championships in 2005, joined The Streets tour the next year
and shortly after signed to Skinner's label The Beats with an album due Summer 2007.
With many appearances on Radio 1 and 1Xtra under his belt, Green makes the leap from MC
to broadcaster on Radio 1's In New DJs We Trust show which sees him joined by his tour
DJ Samurai on the decks.

Mistress De Funk - aka Emma Thompson, aged 23, from Manchester. Got her first
residency at Generation X in Manchester aged 15 playing trance/tough funky house. At 17,
held residencies at Venus and Emporia, by 18 was a regular guest on Manchester's Key 103
Saturday night show and had a residency at Hidden, Birmingham. Her sound matured and she
started spinning at The Music Box, Sankeys Soap and the popular secret balls with
Morillo, Ingrosso and Angello. She has played on the Privilege world tour, the
Subliminal UK tour and the last two summers in Ibiza where she has residencies at Filthy
Gorgeous, Coco Loco at Meganite and Filthy Mondays at Es Paradis. This year she was
made official resident at Sankeys, the first girl to do so. Forthcoming gigs are
London, Poland and Spain in 2007, plus a tour with Jo Mills. Her music is a winning
combination of tech house, minimal and electro. She has played alongside and held her
own with some of the best, is renowned for her energy and presence behind the decks and
is sure to bring that to her slot on Radio 1's In New DJs We Trust.

Crissy Criss - aged 19, from East London. Introduced to the decks aged five by step-dad
and legendary drum n bass DJ Kenny Ken, he started to teach himself to mix aged nine. Aged
10, he covered for Kenny Ken at a festival to play after Mickey Finn. Aged 11 he played
his first club set at The End in London, soon after he joined DnB pirate station Kool
FM. Crissy has played at major DnB nights across the UK and abroad in New York,
Toronto, Norway, Switzerland, France and Germany. Crissy started production work from
the age of 12 making music on a gaming console. He released his first track on
Back2Basics recordings in 2004. Crissy then signed to Back2Basics Records and Mix n Blen
Records. He signed to Radio 1's The Residency show in May 2005 aged just 17, the
youngest DJ at the station. Crissy then hooked up with MC Skibadee to release Tika Toc
which gained great DJ and airplay support. He then created online TV project Road
Raiders (interactive comedy show) with his cousin NSD, as well as his new brand Keepin It
Criss which will be the home of record releases, TV, merchandise and more. Crissy signs
to 1Xtra to host his own weekly drum n bass show in January 2007. 听
