Wakefield businesswoman wins own Radio Leeds Christmas show

Businesswoman Nadine Hill has won a ´óÏó´«Ã½ Radio Leeds competition to present a Christmas show on the station.

Ìý

Nadine, Virtual Assistant from Wakefield, entered the ´óÏó´«Ã½'s Search for a Star contest in November when Radio Leeds appealed on air for West Yorkshire-based listeners to get in touch if they would like to present their own Christmas show.

Ìý

Managing Editor Phil Roberts then invited 17 applicants to an evening at the ´óÏó´«Ã½ to meet presenters, have a look around the studios, and record "a minute to win it", in which they had to sell themselves and explain why they should be the chosen one.

Ìý

Phil selected three contestants to make it through to the next round and three wild cards.

Ìý

Listeners to Radio Leeds were then invited to vote for their favourite presenter – Nadine was the winner, with 37 per cent of the votes.

Ìý

Phil said: "´óÏó´«Ã½ Radio Leeds is committed to encouraging and finding new talent in West Yorkshire.Ìý Nadine is our listeners' choice for what I'm sure will be a perfect Christmas show."

Ìý

Nadine said: "I am absolutely delighted to have won. I hope that listeners of West Yorkshire will really relax and enjoy the show when I encourage everyone to slow down and savour the day this Christmas, and I can't wait to be on air!"
