´óÏó´«Ã½ appoints Chief Operating Officer of Journalism Group

Dominic Coles has been appointed as the Chief Operating Officer of the ´óÏó´«Ã½'s Journalism Group.

Coles, previously Director of Sports Rights and Finance at the ´óÏó´«Ã½, assumes overall responsibility for the financial and business operations of ´óÏó´«Ã½ News, ´óÏó´«Ã½ Sport, ´óÏó´«Ã½ Global News and ´óÏó´«Ã½ Nations & Regions – the divisions which make up the corporation's Journalism Group.

He retains full responsibility for negotiating sports rights, as well as remaining Finance Director for ´óÏó´«Ã½ Sport. He will sit on the Journalism Board and the ´óÏó´«Ã½'s Finance Board.

On Coles' appointment, Deputy Director-General Mark Byford, who leads the Journalism Group, says:

Coles took up the position of Chief Operating Officer, ´óÏó´«Ã½ Journalism Group on 1 January 2007. He reports directly to the Deputy Director-General Mark Byford.
