Greg Rusedski on Friday Night With Jonathan Ross

Jonathan Ross: ace chat with Greg, Rob and Helena

Tonight on 大象传媒 One's Friday Night With Jonathan Ross British tennis star Greg Rusedski serves up his verdict on the state of the game, a month after he announced his retirement from professional tennis.

Greg, whose career spanned 17 years, tells Jonathan Ross: "I felt I wasn't good enough any more. It's always a tough decision . I had quite a few injuries, it was the best time for me to go at the Davis Cup.

"I wanted to go out on a win. I couldn't win seven matches at Wimbledon, I'd lost the belief, the hunger.

"I just can't run any more . there's too much focus on Wimbledon ... when you put too much pressure on yourself it becomes too difficult. I did that at Wimbledon, it's one of my biggest regrets ...

"I haven't had time to pick up a racquet [since retirement], I was always disciplined but now I can have a good time."

He also talks about Tim Henman's career: "Tim's done phenomenally well out there . it's too late for Tim now, there are very few Grand Slam winners over the age of 30."

And about Andy Murray's future prospects Greg says: "He's already ten in the world. I like his attitude, he has the confidence to go out on a limb, not to be afraid to say 'I'm going to be the best'."

On the future of tennis in Britain: "It's a question of hunger. We need to find kids who have intensity and desire, we have great athletes in this country, we need to sell the game to them."

This week's line-up also includes award-winning comedian turned actor Rob Brydon who returned to 大象传媒 Three this week with a second series of the critically-acclaimed Annually Retentive.

And idiosyncratic Oscar-nominated actress Helena Bonham Carter whose latest starring screen role is in Conversations With Other Women.

She talks about her forthcoming role in Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix: "I was in that for six weeks. I had five lines, they cut three, it's like a rest home, the male actors do lady chats."

Plus, there's music from Dundee indie band The View performing their new single The Don.

The programme is a HotsauceTV/Open Mike production for 大象传媒 One.
