´óÏó´«Ã½ Sports Personality Of The Year event grows with support of Robinsons

´óÏó´«Ã½ Sports Personality Of The Year, which became a public event for the
first time in 2006, will be staged in 2007 with the support of its first
event sponsor following the announcement of a two-year deal with
Robinsons.

´óÏó´«Ã½ Sport also announced today that the event will be held at The NEC,
Birmingham, for the second year running.
Ìý
Thanks to the Robinsons
sponsorship, the audience capacity this year will increase by 3,000 to a
total of 8,000, ensuring more members of the public will be able to
attend the live show.

Roger Mosey, Director of Sport, ´óÏó´«Ã½, said: "We are delighted to
welcome Robinsons as our first event sponsor as this means we can
increase the ambition of the event while providing good value to our
licence fee payers.

we are confident they will be an enthusiastic partner and will help us
develop the event.

enjoyed a very successful initial year away from the studio at TV
Centre."

The ´óÏó´«Ã½ Sports Personality Of The Year event supported by Robinsons also
includes exclusive sponsorship of the Unsung Hero Award category, which
recognises and rewards outstanding contribution by individuals to local
level grass roots sport.

Personality of the Year event.

bbc.co.uk/sportsunsunghero from Thursday 14 June until Saturday 3
November 2007.
