Stephanie Beacham dances out of Strictly Come Dancing

Tonight was ladies' night with the women performing either the Quickstep or the raunchy Rumba, but unfortunately one of those ladies had to leave.

Ìý

Self-confessed diva Stephanie Beacham was voted off Strictly Come Dancing tonight (Sunday 14 October) – the first female celebrity to leave the ´óÏó´«Ã½ One competition.

Ìý

Stephanie said: "It's been nothing but awful! It's such hard work ... I am in admiration for these glorious dancers. I really don't know how they do it."

Ìý

Stephanie was left in the bottom two with actress Letitia Dean. Both women had to perform again – Stephanie the Quickstep and Letitia the Rumba – for the judges' deciding vote.

Ìý

Of Stephanie's performance the judges said –

Ìý

Bruno: "It's great to see real Hollywood glamour. You're an actress and you absolutely sell it. The footwork needs a bit of work but as first one out you did a great job." Score: 6.

Ìý

Arlene: "Once an actress, always an actress. Your smile carried you around the floor. Your steps need to be as light as the feathers on your dress but they weren't." Score: 6.

Ìý

Len: "The key is hold, posture and movement ... I've got to say, Stephanie, by and large that's what we saw. You moved very well. Your posture needs a bit of work and so does your hold but overall great." Score: 6.

Ìý

Craig: "A very respectable attempt. Neat chassés. But you lost a lot of body contact throughout." Score: 6.

Ìý

The judges scored a total of 24 out of 40 for the performance.

Ìý

The judges voted to save as follows –

Ìý

Craig: Letitia and Darren

Arlene: Stephanie and Vincent

Bruno: Letitia and Darren

Len: Letitia and Darren

Ìý

This week the boys were safe from elimination as they performed a group Merengue. But the judges certainly weren't as impressed as they were with the girls.

Ìý

The judges said -

Ìý

Arlene: "Boys, be afraid and very afraid. Two words come to mind, Kenny – rugby and pitch. That was a bit like a scrum!"

Ìý

Len: "What I want to say is that the girls have thrown down the gauntlet. I want you to be brave enough to come out next week and pick it up and fire on all cylinders."

Ìý

Bruno: "You look like you've been rehearsing by text. It's true. You have to focus, guys. The girls did a great job and you've got to raise your game."

Ìý

Next week the competition really hots up and the boys and the girls compete against each other to stay in the competition. They will be performing either the Jive or the Tango.
