London Jazz Festival 2007 on Radio 3

We Love Ella, a tribute to celebrate the 90th birthday of Ella Fitzgerald, featuring the ´óÏó´«Ã½ Concert Orchestra and a host of international singers – including Terri Walker, Jamelia and Claire Martin; Blue Note trumpeter Charles Tolliver's celebrated Big Band; acclaimed Norwegian pianist Tord Gustavsen; and Senegal's legendary Orchestra Baobab – are among the broadcast highlights of ´óÏó´«Ã½ Radio 3's extensive coverage of the London Jazz Festival.

Now in the seventh year as the London Jazz Festival's principal media partner, Radio 3 will further enhance its festival coverage by providing video highlights of selected concerts online at bbc.co.uk/radio3.

The videos will be available after the festival has finished, giving jazz fans a chance to see some of the most exciting and dynamic international jazz talent in their natural habitat – on stage.

From 16 November, London Jazz Festival performances will be featured throughout the Radio 3's schedule, on Jazz On 3, Jazz Line-Up, World Routes, Late Junction, Performance On 3 and In Tune.

There will also be special London Jazz Festival themed Jazz Record Requests, Jazz Library and Private Passions programmes, bringing the London Jazz Festival to a wider audience.

In addition to broadcasting some of the finest concerts from the festival, Radio 3's Jazz Library will broadcast two special programmes; Sonny Rollins joins Alyn Shipton for an exclusive interview to select the key recordings from his huge back catalogue and discuss his long and illustrious career – a true jazz legend.

Jazz Record Requests, on Saturday 17 November, will preview the festival with listener requests for tracks by artists appearing on the festival bill. On Private Passions, Michael Berkeley meets the legendary jazz bassist Charlie Haden, to discuss his diverse musical tastes including Cuban folk music and spiritual hymns.

Jazz Line-Up also hosts a London Jazz Festival special live from the newly refurbished ´óÏó´«Ã½ Radio Theatre in Broadcasting House, with performances from The Inner Noise featuring the trio of drummer Asaf Sirkis, guitarist Mike Outram and Steve Lodder playing pipe organ; also playing is Hungary's leading Roma jazz musician, Bela Szakcsi Lakatos.
