Elle Macpherson and KT Tunstall chat to Graham Norton
|
Supermodel Elle Macpherson, comic Frankie Boyle and KT Tunstall join Graham Norton for tonight's edition of The Graham Norton Show on 大象传媒 Two.
听
Anglophile Elle talks about the success of her range of underwear in the UK: "Design is my thing, it's what I love to do. Everyone said you can't sell knickers to British women because they all go to Marks & Spencer and they get one pair of nice knickers for a Saturday night.
听
"I said we have to change that and women need to be educated, it's about women taking pride in their bodies, wearing things for themselves, making them feel feminine and sexy."
听
As for her own 'The Body' soubriquet: "It was an albatross about my neck but I've turned it into a business."
听
And on her own attitude to her body image now, she says: "It's not about how can I wrack my body, it's about what I can do to manage stress, unwind ... even when I don't do anything [exercise], nothing much changes."
听
She also says of her own alleged friendship with Sir Paul McCartney: "Not everything you read is true [but] Stella and I are friends."
听
KT Tunstall reminisces about her days busking on the streets of Glasgow and London and an unexpected brush with fame when she was 19:
听
"I was busking in Camden and I saw this small guy and it was Mark Owen. He gave me 拢1! I said 'oi I want a fiver'. I didn't keep the pound but I kept the memory. This was pre-comeback, he said 'it'll be you giving me money soon!'"
听
And her own attitude to buskers now? "I have a rule, if a busker makes me feel happy, I'll give them money."
听
KT also performs her new single Saving My Face live in the studio.
