Jonathan kicks off new season with Tom Hanks and Chris Rock
Fresh from a brief festive break, Jonathan Ross returns to host a 14th season of his award-winning show, Friday Night With Jonathan Ross, now a permanent fixture for Friday nights through to the summer and extended to 40 editions across the year on 大象传媒 One.

Tonight Tom Hanks announces he is making Toy Story 3: "They're preparing the third one right now. I'll do anything they want me to do, they're like mad scientists."
听
And he talks about The Da Vinci Code, another screen role he's about to reprise: "I believed I looked like Bono, that hair caused riots!" And when Jonathan teases him about the film, he jokes back: "That was the second-highest grossing film of all time ... so take your little review and save it for Mr Parkinson when he comes back!"
听
He looks forward to an end to the US writers' strike: "We're really hoping that situation goes back to the table," and he reveals a problem with English accents: "You English people with your dialects p**s me off! ... When I saw Mary Poppins in 1964, I thought that's how English people spoke!"
听
He also reveals an unusual hobby: "Eighty typewriters, a low-cost addiction. I'm insane, I'm mad about typewriters. I rotate them, I travel with them, it's my only vice."
听
Also joining Jonathan is provocative US stand-up superstar Chris Rock who thinks Oprah Winfrey should be president.
听
"It's good there's going to be a change. Bush has messed it up so bad, it's hard for a white man to even run for president now ... I think Barack Obama's got a really good chance, Clinton is formidable but I don't think you should be allowed to run for president if you've been married to one." And as for Oprah: "She's the closest thing we've got to God!"
听
The line-up also includes Primeval co-stars Hannah Spearritt and Andrew Lee Potts and there's music from Reverend & The Makers performing Heavyweight Champion Of The World.
