Radio 1's live events calendar even more diverse for 2008

´óÏó´«Ã½ Radio 1 announces today details of the station's live music coverage for 2008, featuring a huge range of specialist events.

Since the start of the year the station has already demonstrated its continued commitment to specialist live music.
Ìý
Events so far have included the Eurosonic Festival in the Netherlands, the Worldwide Awards and the ´óÏó´«Ã½ Introducing evening from Maida Vale featuring The Ting Tings, Pete And The Pirates and Late Of The Pier.

The station's flagship event, Radio 1's Big Weekend, returns in May and will take place in Maidstone, Kent with the full line-up announced in the coming months.

The station will be once again be at all the major UK festivals including Glastonbury, Reading/Leeds and T In The Park.

In 2007, Radio 1 Presents... were a highlight of the calendar with one-off exclusive gigs performed by The White Stripes, Kaiser Chiefs, My Chemical Romance and Arctic Monkeys.

In 2008 the station continues to build on this with Radio 1 Presents Foo Fighters live from Wembley Arena already confirmed. More one-off performances from major artists will be announced throughout the year.
