  • C´óÏó´«Ã½'s exciting new interactive tournament goes live 3 March 2008, 7pm, at bbc.co.uk/cbbc

Ìý

Limber up for the launch of a brand new innovative, interactive event – the first of its kind from C´óÏó´«Ã½.

Ìý

Run! is an electrifying interactive online tournament, which will premiere on bbc.co.uk/cbbc from 3 March 2008.

Ìý

At 7pm every weekday for four weeks, players can go online and play with their friends and the rest of the nation in Run!, a new fun, fast-paced multi-player game. Every night, C´óÏó´«Ã½'s Ed Petrie and his beloved sidekick Oucho invite you to visit bbc.co.uk/cbbc and race live against each other in a daily challenge.

Ìý

Week one of Run! begins in the European Capital of Culture, Liverpool. Orwell, a lazy computer hacker and complete couch potato, is cooking up a deep pan disaster, as he plans to ruin the city's celebrations and flood the new Liverpool Arena with pizza dough and toppings. With the help of his army of remote controlled Or-Bots, he is planning on heating up all the ingredients to turn the Arena into the world's biggest pizza pan – unless the Runners can stop him!

Ìý

So, how do you play the game? First you need to join one of the two teams. Being a Skyliner is about getting across the city fast, and in style. You can join Mirth, Jinx, Doodle and Veep and show those Lightriders who are the coolest Runners.

Ìý

Or, you can join Angles, Wingnut, Tumbles and Mix and become a Lightrider! Being a Lightrider is about speed, teamwork and stopping Orwell and his Or-Bots.

Ìý

Next, you pick your own animated avatar to play with as part of the game. Both teams will race against each other each night, in a bid to win the Run! However, despite their rivalry the teams are united in a mission to stop Orwell, whose aim is to turn the United Kingdom into a lazy, junk food guzzling nation.

Ìý

Run! can be played solo or by forming a squad of up to five friends and playing along with them. You can find your teammates by using the on-screen radar and use one of the pre-set messages to send to your squad to help them out during game-play. You can also track which team is winning with a live scoreboard, as well as practicing your skills by playing previous challenges.

Ìý

Players will be able to take part in Run! during Sport Relief. Participants at each of the one-mile Sport Relief runs taking place around the country from 14 to 16 March will be given one of four special codes enabling players to unlock special gadgets and equipment, which can be used during the game.

Ìý

Each of the codes will give the Runners access to special abilities including a pair of Spring Boots enabling you to do a Super Jump and the Spin Rig backpack which makes your Runner do a Spinning Ricochet move!

Ìý

Stay up to speed with the latest news on the Run! website and get access to more special codes by watching Sportsround or tuning in to the C´óÏó´«Ã½ channel for updates from Ed and Oucho.

Ìý

Run! is a race against the clock – so at the end of every week, the team with most players over the finishing line will be crowned weekly winners. At the end of the four weeks, the team that wins the most weeks wins Run!

Ìý

The triumphant team will be announced online and also on C´óÏó´«Ã½'s Sportsround on Saturday 29 March.

Ìý

Run! – part live multi-player game, part animated story – is a chance to take part in the biggest online race of all time!
