´óÏó´«Ã½'s first FM radio partnership in Rwanda

The ´óÏó´«Ã½ has secured its first FM partnership in Rwanda with Radio
10 meaning even more listeners can listen to ´óÏó´«Ã½ programmes in FM
quality sound.

Radio 10 will broadcast ´óÏó´«Ã½ World Service programming in French, Kinyarwanda, Kirundi and Swahili.

Radio 10 will broadcast ´óÏó´«Ã½ Great Lakes weekday news programme ´óÏó´«Ã½
Gahuzamiryango at 16.00 GMT.
Ìý
On Saturdays audiences can listen to Imvo n'imvano at 05.00 GMT.
Ìý
French-speaking audiences can tune
into ´óÏó´«Ã½ Afrique's daily news and current affairs programmes, ´óÏó´«Ã½
Matin at 04.30 GMT and ´óÏó´«Ã½ Soir at 18.00 GMT.
Ìý
´óÏó´«Ã½ Swahili broadcasts will include its flagship morning programme Amka Na ´óÏó´«Ã½,
news and current affairs programme Dira Ya Dunia and a round-up of
the big news stories from across the continent in Leo Afrika.

Tim Cooke, Head of ´óÏó´«Ã½ World Service French and Great Lakes, said: "The ´óÏó´«Ã½ has a special broadcasting history in the Great Lakes
region and this new radio partnership with Radio 10 opens up
possibilities for further cooperation and growth.

The new partnership with Radio 10 complements the ´óÏó´«Ã½'s already
strong FM presence in the country which includes ´óÏó´«Ã½ 93.9 FM in
Kigali, ´óÏó´«Ã½ 93.3 FM in Karongi and ´óÏó´«Ã½ 106.1 FM in Butare.

together" – provides two daily 30-minute programmes in
Kinyarwanda/Kirundi for a massive audience in Rwanda, Burundi and
neighbouring countries.

Urunana has been broadcast on the ´óÏó´«Ã½ Great Lakes service and re-broadcast by Radio Rwanda since 1999. Aimed at improving the
sexual and reproductive health of rural women, Urunana openly
addresses all topics related to sexual and reproductive health,
encouraging discussions around issues considered taboos in the
region. Urunana is produced and performed by Health Unlimited Well
Women Media Project.
