In a small fishing village in Massachusetts 17 schoolgirls who attend the same Catholic High school are all currently expecting a baby. Did the 16 year old girls make a pact or is this a freak co-incidence?

´óÏó´«Ã½ Three has commissioned a 1 x 60-minutes special from October Films which takes us behind the scenes of this remarkable true story and seeks to uncover the truth behind what happened to these 17 American girls.

´óÏó´«Ã½ Three continues to tackle the important issues facing young people today with a brand new season of films which examine the relationship between teenagers and religion – the first of which to be announced is American Pregnancy Cult (working title).

Filming has begun in Gloucester, Massachusetts.

The film was commissioned by the Controller of ´óÏó´«Ã½ Three Danny Cohen and Commissioning Editor Harry Lansdown.

Directed by James Quinn, with Executive produced for October Films, Denman Rooke and Executive Producer for the ´óÏó´«Ã½, Harry Lansdown.

Danny Cohen says: "This is a situation which is happening right now in a small American town.

"As well as being fascinating contemporary story about young people, it also has a broader religious and social backdrop that we aim to explore in the film."
