´óÏó´«Ã½ News continues to grow audience

´óÏó´«Ã½ One's television news bulletins at 6.00pm and 10.00pm have seen significant growth in their audiences according to consolidated audience figures for January to July 2008.

The period, which has seen major news stories such as the credit crunch, the progress of the Olympic torch and the ´óÏó´«Ã½ presenting live from Zimbabwe (despite being banned), saw more viewers tune than in the equivalent period in 2007.

The year-to-date average for ´óÏó´«Ã½ News at Ten is 4.87 million (23.4% share).
Ìý
The equivalent figures for 2007 were 4.76 million (22.6% share), which is an increase of 110,000 year-on-year.

This follows an increase in the programme's audience of 300,000 in 2007.
Ìý
The average reach of the programme – ie, the number of people who will watch at least three minutes – is 6.4 million.
Ìý
´óÏó´«Ã½ News at Six averaged 4.446 million (25.1% share).
Ìý
The equivalent figures for 2007 were 4.273 million (24.5% share), an increase of 173,000 year-on-year.

The average reach of the Six is 5.7 million.

´óÏó´«Ã½ Breakfast News on ´óÏó´«Ã½ One has also seen an increase in its figures and share.

The year-to-date average for Breakfast is 1.126 million (29.8% share), whilst the equivalent figures for 2007 were 1.044 million (28.7% share).

This is an increase of 82,000 viewers year-on-year.

The average reach of ´óÏó´«Ã½ Breakfast is 5.4 million viewers.
