Radio 2 Young Choristers of the Year 2008



Alice Halstead and Harry Bradford are ´óÏó´«Ã½ Radio 2 Young Choristers of the Year 2008.

Alice Halstead (14), from St Alphee Church in Solihull, and Harry Bradford (12), from Chapel Royal, St James's Palace in London, won the coveted titles at the final held at St Paul's Cathedral in London on Friday and broadcast last night (Sunday) at 8.00pm on ´óÏó´«Ã½ Radio 2.

The final was hosted by Charles Hazlewood, one of the most prolific and dynamic musicians of his generation.

The eight finalists – four boys and four girls – each performed a sacred song and a hymn in front of a live audience.

Ìý

The judging panel was chaired by Andrew Carwood, the distinguished director of music at St Paul's, Carrie Grant and the director of the winning choir in Last Choir Standing, Tim Rhys-Evans.

Ìý

Each of the winners received a trophy and the opportunity to appear on Radio 2's Good Morning Sunday, Sunday Half Hour and ´óÏó´«Ã½ Radio 4's Daily Service, as well as at other events.
