Radio Sheffield gives local bands the chance to shine

´óÏó´«Ã½ Radio Sheffield's Raw Talent show is bringing the best in unsigned bands and local talent to one of South Yorkshire's top rock venues.

Raw Talent is leaving the studio for one night only – showcasing the best of South Yorkshire at a special gig at the Carling Academy.

Presenter Iain Hodgson has teamed up with Higher Rhythm, the not-for-profit company based in Doncaster that provides access to the music industry.

Iain said: "This is a great gig and a wonderful opportunity for unsigned bands and artists in the region.
Ìý
"It's not just about appearing at the Carling Academy and on Raw Talent – there's a good chance that some of the acts could be picked up by Radio 1 or the Reading and Leeds festivals, which feature a ´óÏó´«Ã½ Introducing stage."

Six bands have been lined up for the gig. They are: Skeletons, Rosie Electro, Playground Mafia, Skullbone, True Gentlemen and Dead World Leaders.

Tickets are now available for the gig at the Carling Academy in Sheffield on Tuesday 2 December 2008.

Tickets are free of charge and subject to a 99p booking fee.
