Beautiful People to return to ´óÏó´«Ã½ Two

Beautiful People, the comedy series inspired by the eccentric childhood of style guru Simon Doonan about growing up in suburban Reading, has been recommissioned for ´óÏó´«Ã½ Two.

The series gained wide critical acclaim, and featured a cast that included Olivia Colman, Meera Syal, Aidan McArdle and Samuel Barnett.

It also brought together youngsters Luke Ward-Wilkinson and Layton Williams who stole the screen as the teenage Simon and his best friend Kyle – better known as Kylie.

Writer Jonathan Harvey said: "I am thrilled that the ´óÏó´«Ã½ has faith in a show which struck a chord with so many. I can't wait to get back to spending time with a group of such lovable characters again."

Series two has been commissioned by ´óÏó´«Ã½ Controller of Comedy Commissioning Lucy Lumsden and Janice Hadlow, Controller of ´óÏó´«Ã½ Two.

Lucy Lumsden said: "After its successful debut we're delighted to announce the return of the fabulous Beautiful People for ´óÏó´«Ã½ Two."

Jon Plowman, Executive Producer, added: "I'm jumping up and down that this musical comedy memoir will get a chance to entertain even more people in the forthcoming series."

Alongside Jon will be producer Justin Davies who worked with him on series one.

The second series goes into production later this year.
