Huw Stephens announces line-up for ´óÏó´«Ã½ Introducing Stage at Sonar 2009

´óÏó´«Ã½ Radio 1's Huw Stephens has revealed the line-up for a ´óÏó´«Ã½ Introducing Stage at 2009's Sonar Festival in Barcelona.

Taking place on Friday 18 June and hosted by Huw, the stage will showcase three British breakthrough artists making waves in 2009.

Hotly tipped electro pop outfit La Roux will headline alongside support from leftfield hip-hop trio Young Fathers and dubstep/electronica artist Bass Clef.

The stage is a first for ´óÏó´«Ã½ Introducing with In New Music We Trust DJ Huw Stephens excited at being part of such a cutting-edge festival.

He says: "I'm delighted that Introducing is part of the legendary Sonar festival! It's the finest festival of its kind, and bringing new artists under the Introducing sun-umbrella to Sonar is fantastic; it's a true European and innovation spectacular, which I'm very proud to be part of!"

Highlights from the stage will be broadcast in Huw Stephens' Introducing show on Wednesday 24 June from 9.00pm on Radio 1.

´óÏó´«Ã½ Introducing showcases unsigned, undiscovered and under-the-radar musical talent from around the UK.

Launched in 2007, Introducing brings together programming from across the ´óÏó´«Ã½ under a unified brand with each show retaining its own identity.

Introducing shows can be found on most ´óÏó´«Ã½ Radio stations from national to local level.
