´óÏó´«Ã½ Cymru Wales has appointed Geoff Williams as its Head of Sport.
The former Senior Producer of Wales Today and Editor of Radio Wales News, Geoff has been Acting Head of Sport since Nigel Walker was promoted to Head of Change and Internal Communications in December 2008.
Every year ´óÏó´«Ã½ Wales Sport produces more than 200 hours of TV, 1,000 hours of radio output and round-the-clock new media content.
Menna Richards, Director of ´óÏó´«Ã½ Cymru Wales, said: "I believe that our sports coverage goes to the very heart of the ´óÏó´«Ã½'s public mission in Wales and delivers very significant value to licence fee payers.
"High quality provision is absolutely central to the fulfilment of the ´óÏó´«Ã½'s public purposes and it's rightly what audiences demand and expect from us.
"Geoff's experience, knowledge and expertise will ensure that ´óÏó´«Ã½ Cymru Wales continues to deliver first-class sport coverage from Wales."
Geoff Williams said: "I'm naturally thrilled. I am passionate about ´óÏó´«Ã½ Wales Sport and delivering the best for our audiences.

Geoff Williams was educated at Haverfordwest Grammar School.
Before joining the ´óÏó´«Ã½ he was a general reporter with the Western Telegraph and then the South Wales Echo.
At the ´óÏó´«Ã½, Geoff's roles have included Senior Producer on Wales Today; Editor of Meet for Lunch; Editor of Radio Wales News and Managing Editor of Sport.
