The ´óÏó´«Ã½'s multi-platform teen brand ´óÏó´«Ã½ Switch has secured performances from some of the biggest music stars in the teen world for ´óÏó´«Ã½ Switch Live 2009, which takes place on Sunday 8 November at the Hammersmith Apollo in London.
Black Eyed Peas, The Saturdays, JLS, N-Dubz, Pixie Lott, Alexandra Burke and Shaheen Jafargholi will perform in front of over 4,000 14 to 17-year-olds at the event, which is now in its second year.
´óÏó´«Ã½ Switch Live has secured Kimberley Walsh from Girls Aloud to co-host alongside ´óÏó´«Ã½ Radio 1 DJ Nick Grimshaw.
Kimberley Walsh said: "I am really looking forward to be co-hosting the ´óÏó´«Ã½ Switch Live event with Nick Grimshaw. The line-up looks amazing – it's going to be a great day."
´óÏó´«Ã½ Switch Live on ´óÏó´«Ã½ One (transmission: Sunday 15 November) will be presented by Kimberley and Nick, with additional backstage reports and celebrity interviews from Radio 1 DJ Annie Mac and The 5:19 Show presenters Tom Deacon and AJ Odudu.
This year ´óÏó´«Ã½ Switch Live will also celebrate the best in British talent from the past year with the first ever Switch Live Awards, voted for by Switch's teen audience. The awards will be announced and handed out during the event.
Categories include: Switch's Stylish Human; Switch's Sporting Hero; Switch's Outstanding Artist and Switch's Prom Queen, nominees for which were put forward by Switch listeners and visitors to the website.
Voting is open until 25 October at bbc.co.uk/switch.
The ninth award is the Teen Hero Award, which celebrates inspirational teenagers in the UK.
Nominees have been suggested by The Surgery, on Radio 1, listeners and ´óÏó´«Ã½ Slink readers.
´óÏó´«Ã½ Switch Live is a massive multi-platform event for the ´óÏó´«Ã½ across television, radio and online.
As well as broadcasting on ´óÏó´«Ã½ One and on the ´óÏó´«Ã½ HD Channel, highlights of the event, including live music and backstage interviews, will air in a five-hour ´óÏó´«Ã½ Switch Live special on Radio 1 with Annie Mac, Nick Grimshaw and Aled Haydn-Jones from 7.00pm on Sunday 8 November.
There will also be major interactive presence online at bbc.co.uk/switch where many live performances will be available to watch on demand. The site will also offer artist pages, video diaries, backstage fun, information for parents, photo galleries, artist interviews and much more.
Next Sunday, 18 October, Annie Mac and Nick Grimshaw will announce how listeners can get hold of tickets live on Radio 1's Switch show.

´óÏó´«Ã½ Switch Live 2009 will be exclusively for 14 to 17 year olds and takes place on Sunday 8 November 2009 from 2.00pm to 6.00pm at London's Hammersmith Apollo.
