´óÏó´«Ã½ Radio 2 today announces further details of the 2010 Sunday schedule.
Michael Ball's Sunday show will transmit in four blocks of four programmes from 10 January 2010, and Terry Wogan's brand new show will broadcast in three blocks of 12 shows from Sunday 7 February 2010.
Michael, who has just finished a nationwide tour celebrating over 25 years in the entertainment industry, will continue to give listeners a rich mix of guest interviews and music.
The schedule change next year will also give Michael the opportunity to lead a UK tour of the sell-out musical Hairspray, for which he won the 2008 Olivier Award for Best Actor in a Musical for playing the role of Edna Turnblad.
Michael comments: "To combine my two biggest loves next year – going on a national tour with Hairspray, which has turned into one of the most important and enjoyable roles of my career, and to continue to present on Radio 2, will be a pleasure. I wish Terry the best of luck with his new show and look forward to listening in."
Bob Shennan, Controller, Radio 2 and 6 Music, comments: "Michael's Sunday morning show is popular with the Radio 2 audience so I'm delighted that he will continue to present on the network. We'll also be exploring other opportunities for Michael that fit in with his busy schedule."
