Tribute to Sir Ludovic Kennedy

Sir Ludovic Kennedy

Tribute was paid today to writer and broadcaster Sir Ludovic Kennedy, who has died at the age of 89.

Mark Thompson, ´óÏó´«Ã½ Director-General, said: "Ludovic Kennedy was one of the giants of post-war broadcasting. His integrity and the tenacity of his investigative journalism, particularly where he saw injustice, won him the respect and trust of generations of audiences.

"He will be remembered not only for his achievements as a broadcaster, writer and campaigner but also as someone of tremendous warmth and humanity."

Mark Damazer, Controller, ´óÏó´«Ã½ Radio 4 and Radio 7, said: "Ludovic Kennedy was one of my broadcasting heros. He had a huge range. Like so many of the greats he was a superb reporter as well as presenter.

"He had a properly passionate concern about injustice wherever he found it. And his TV review programme Did You See spawned many others that took their inspiration from Ludovic Kennedy's eclecticism."
