´óÏó´«Ã½ Radio 5 Live listeners have chosen Sir Steve Redgrave's fifth Olympic gold as the greatest sporting achievement of the decade 2000 to 2009.
Listeners picked Sir Steve from a final shortlist of four contenders as overall winner on New Year's Day in 5 Live Breakfast.
The final four contenders, from an initial shortlist of 20 achievements nominated by the station's 5 Live Sport programme for the title, were:
From 28 December, on 5 Live Breakfast, listeners picked the individual or team that they felt made the most impressive sporting contribution of the Noughties. Listeners voted by text in 5 Live Breakfast.

From 6.00am on Monday 28 December 2009, a text vote was launched allowing listeners of the 5 Live Breakfast programme the opportunity to vote for the greatest sporting achievement of the last decade.
´óÏó´«Ã½ Sport shortlisted 20 of the greatest sporting achievements of the last decade. This shortlist was randomly divided into four groups of five achievements.
On each day from Monday 28 to Thursday 31 December, a list of five achievements was read out on the 5 Live Breakfast show and listeners were asked to text their vote for one achievement each day. The achievement with the most votes at the end of each day was announced at approximately 9.00am that day and went through to the final vote.
Listeners texted their votes for the winner on Friday 1 January 2010.
