The ´óÏó´«Ã½ Academy, in collaboration with key Bristol based organisations that together form The Bristol – ´óÏó´«Ã½ Anchor Partnership, is hosting a series of workshops and events from Tuesday 23 until Thursday 25 March 2010 at three central Bristol venues: ´óÏó´«Ã½ Bristol Broadcasting House, the Watershed and Goldbrick House.
Aimed at local programme-makers and content producers from the world of TV, radio and digital media, the three day and evening seminars will explore how new innovation and technology is revolutionising the broadcast and digital media industry.
The seminars will focus on how new tools are changing the way we work and topics debated include: citizen journalism, HD, 3D production, Internet Protocol TV and digital archives.
In addition to scheduled seminars, the ´óÏó´«Ã½'s Future Media & Technology's Blue Room will showcase the latest in consumer and industry technology with demonstrations and an opportunity to try out the latest gadgets and devices.
The initiative is just one element of the commitment of the industry parties involved in the Anchor partnership to work as an inclusive media community where skills, resources and ideas can be shared to strengthen the West region's stake in the industry's global growth.
Andy Corp, ´óÏó´«Ã½ Bristol Innovation Executive, says of the events: "This is a great chance for the region's media to come together, swap ideas, share resources and learn from each other.
"These events will encourage co-operation and help cultivate Bristol's future as a media hub of innovation, expertise and creative talent."
Paul Appleby, Chair, Bristol Media, says: "Bristol is already home to the ´óÏó´«Ã½'s world renowned Natural History Unit and has an established and enviable pool of local talent.
"Events like these where innovative ideas and new technology can be explored is a great way to keep a creative eye open on latest technologies and developments to enable us to maintain our position, survive the economic downturn and keep in step with the fast changing global media environment."
