´óÏó´«Ã½ 6 Music unveils new Sunday schedule

Huey Morgan

Easter Sunday heralds a change to digital radio station ´óÏó´«Ã½ 6 Music's Sunday schedule with an extra helping of the network's favourite musicians-turned-DJ.

Cerys Matthews starts her new two-hour show on Sunday mornings (10.00am-12.00noon), the award-winning Huey Morgan Show (2.00-4.00pm) gains half an hour and the critically acclaimed Jarvis Cocker's Sunday Service moves half an hour later to the 4.00-6.00pm slot.

Stuart Maconie's Freak Zone follows, easing into a two-hour slot (6.00-8.00pm). The show promises to play the weird, the wonderful and all that's in between and glides effortlessly and elegantly from contemporary electronica to art-rock, via ambient textures, jazz, folk and prog rock groovers and movers.

Fans of the show can also catch an extra hour of the music they love from the new Freakier Zone, to be broadcast on Friday nights (12.00midnight-1.00am).

6 Mix – which showcases a rich array of DJ talent including Orbital, Erol Alkan, 2ManyDJs, Marc Hughes and Wall Of Sound's Mark Jones – moves to Sunday evenings (8.00-10.00pm). Dave Pearce continues the Saturday night party on 6 Music as he takes Dance Anthems from Sunday evening to the Saturday 10.00pm-12.00midnight slot.

Elbow frontman Guy Garvey continues to ease listeners through Sunday nights with his Finest Hour (10.00pm-12.00midnight) and, finally, the night ends with a second instalment of Don Letts' Culture Clash Radio (12.00midnight-1.00am).

Adam Buxton, one half of 6 Music's award-winning Adam & Joe, also starts his new show on Easter Sunday. Adam Buxton's Big Mix Tape (12.00midday-2.00pm) takes a weekly topic or theme and makes a compilation tape for listeners to share.

Adam's first guest on the inaugural show will be the Mighty Boosh's Julian Barratt.
