Award-winning presenter Phil Trow is the new voice of ´óÏó´«Ã½ Radio Derby's Breakfast Show.

Phil, who was part of the team that won a Sony award for coverage of the IRA bomb attack in Manchester, takes over the 7.00-10.00am weekday show on Tuesday 6 April.

Regular listeners to Radio Derby will be familiar with Phil as he has hosted various programmes for the station over the past few months.

Phil says: "I'm thrilled to get such an exciting opportunity at an award-winning station. I've really felt at home here since I first joined in September and can't wait to get started.

"I was re-named Phil Snow when I sat in on the Breakfast Show during the bad weather at the start of the year – I'm hoping for slightly better weather conditions this time!"

Phil started his radio career in the Midlands in 1986 and has worked with everyone from Robbie Williams to Coronation Street's Emily Bishop. He was even served his tea by the former Take That singer when the pop superstar was a youngster on work experience at his radio station.

He joined ´óÏó´«Ã½ GMR (later ´óÏó´«Ã½ Radio Manchester) in 1990 and was on air when the IRA's bomb devastated central Manchester.

Phil was also a regular presenter on the ´óÏó´«Ã½ North West Children in Need TV show.

He diversified in the Nineties and became the warm-up man for Children's ´óÏó´«Ã½, working on programmes such as Live And Kicking and Get Your Own Back.

He has also pruned roses with Alan Titchmarsh, made lasagne with Gordon Ramsay and tried his hand at acting – appearing in Coronation Street and panto and even playing Gary Lineker in the stage play An Evening With...
