Emilie Fleming has been unveiled as the 11th hopeful Dorothy to don the ruby red slippers and set foot upon the yellow brick road on ´óÏó´«Ã½ One's Over The Rainbow.
As part of the final audition show on Saturday 27 March, the viewers at home were asked to vote for one of the 10 hopeful "wildcard" contestants who weren't successfully picked by Andrew Lloyd Webber and the panel – Sheila Hancock, Charlotte Church and John Partridge – to join the final line-up.
After a rousing rendition of Somewhere Over The Rainbow, the voting lines opened and Emilie Fleming, 19, from Tyne & Wear, picked up the most viewer votes.
Emilie said: "I was absolutely gutted when I didn't get through the first round and drilled into my head that I would be going home so that I wouldn't be disappointed if I didn't get voted through.
"We went to Andrew's house to find out who was to become the 'wild card' and I was so amazed and just cried – I honestly didn't think it would be me! The fact that it was the public who voted me through meant so much – probably more than the panellists!"
Emilie will join Bronte Barbe, Stephanie Davis, Amy Diamond, Jenny Douglas, Sophie Evans, Danielle Hope, Steph Fearon, Dani Rayner, Jessica Robinson, and Lauren Samuels as the battle to become Dorothy for a brand new production of The Wizard Of Oz, in London's West End, gets underway.
Which of them will make it through the gruelling series of eliminations and which will, like Dorothy, learn that those dreams which you dare to dream, really do come true?
