´óÏó´«Ã½

A vibrant selection of visual art by over 20 artists closely associated with Glasgow and its visual arts scene goes on display at ´óÏó´«Ã½ Scotland's Glasgow HQ for two weeks, as part of the Glasgow International Festival of Visual Art (Gi).

Artist Film & Video at ´óÏó´«Ã½ Scotland features a variety of work from both established and emerging artists including Douglas Gordon, Ross Sinclair, Graham Fagen, Aileen Campbell, Roddy Buchanan, David Shrigley, Craig Mulholland, Torsten Lauschmann and many more.

Selection of the exhibition has been made in partnership with the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art and, collectively, the work spans almost 20 years from early Nineties to present day – tying into this year's Festival theme of past, present and future.

The exhibition includes the video compilation Evil Eye Is Source, produced by art music label Shadazz in 2000, and which showcases a wealth of creative collaborations between young Scottish artists and musicians including Stephen Sutcliffe and El Hombre Trajeado, Katy Dove and Devotone and AM Copestake/Fred Pedersen and Life Without Buildings, among others.

Artist Film & Video can be accessed by the public in the reception space at ´óÏó´«Ã½ Scotland's headquarters at Pacific Quay, Glasgow.

This year the festival will take place in over 30 venues across the city with activity during the two-week period including exhibitions in major museums and galleries to talks and performances in artist run spaces.
This exhibition is part of Art At ´óÏó´«Ã½ Scotland, a new initiative bringing a series of temporary visual art projects to ´óÏó´«Ã½ Scotland's headquarters at Pacific Quay, Glasgow.

Aiming to involve both visitors to the building and staff, the programme is lead by Andrea Miller, Head of Factual in consultation with Visual Arts specialist, Jenny Crowe.

On Monday 26 April at 6.30pm, ´óÏó´«Ã½ Radio Scotland presenter Clare English will be in conversation with Katrina Brown, director of Glasgow International Festival of Visual Art, and award-winning and internationally renowned artist Ross Sinclair, in the foyer of ´óÏó´«Ã½ Scotland's headquarters at Pacific Quay.

Clare's guests will discuss their work, this year's festival theme of past, present and future and Glasgow's changing reputation as a centre for visual arts over the last 20 years.
