´óÏó´«Ã½ Scotland gears up for coverage of election finale

´óÏó´«Ã½ Scotland is set to round off its wide-ranging coverage of the election campaign with comprehensive reporting and analysis of the results as they roll in.

On television, radio and online the broadcaster will bring all the twists and turns through polling night and throughout the following day.

Atholl Duncan, Head of News and Current Affairs, said: "Whatever the result, this looks like being the most exciting General Election night for a generation.

"Our aim is to provide the most extensive coverage and analysis every minute of the way - from the polls closing on Thursday evening, till the dying embers of the debate late on Friday.

"´óÏó´«Ã½ Scotland's election coverage on radio, TV and online will be the best way to follow the UK story and all the results from every corner of Scotland."

´óÏó´«Ã½ Scotland will have reporters at counts across Scotland, bringing the stories of the results as they happen. The coverage will include reports from 300 counts across the UK to give the full story as it unfolds.

In Election 2010 Scotland, ´óÏó´«Ã½ One Scotland, from 10pm-6am, Glenn Campbell presents as the winners and losers are revealed. 

´óÏó´«Ã½ Scotland Editor, Brian Taylor, will provide authoritative analysis and Jackie Bird will bring the latest news of every twist and turn around Scotland and from the rest of the UK.

On ´óÏó´«Ã½ Radio Scotland there will be around 20 hours rolling coverage of the election from 10pm on election night.

In Election 2010, from 10pm-6am, Derek Bateman and Nick Rougvie will be up all night to bring the highs and lows of election night.

Derek and Nick will be joined by pundits and politicians to provide all the reaction and analysis of Britain's changing political landscape. 

On Friday 7 May, the in-depth coverage will continue as the outcome of the results is put under the spotlight by the broadcaster's extensive election team.

On ´óÏó´«Ã½ One Scotland, the Reporting Scotland output includes an extended bulletin from 7.30-8am in addition to updates during the day.

Newsnight Scotland will also run from 11-11.30pm on ´óÏó´«Ã½ Two Scotland to reflect on the results, the latest news and the fortunes and prospects of the parties.

On Radio Scotland, Good Morning Scotland, from 6-8.45am will take up the story and Call Kaye from 8.45-10am will give the listeners a chance to air their views on what the result is likely to mean for them.

In a change to the normal schedule there will be a Newsdrive Election Special and at 12.15-1pm, Brian Taylor's Big Debate will be at ´óÏó´«Ã½ Scotland's Pacific Quay studios to analyse and digest the results. There's also another Newsdrive Election Special from 1.15-6pm.
