Lauren Laverne presents ´óÏó´«Ã½ Two's coverage of the awards show, hosted by Jools Holland from London's Grosvenor House Hotel. This live programme, from 10-10.30pm, includes clips of all 12 of the nominated acts performing and the live announcement of this year's winner.

Lauren says: "The Mercurys are always a highlight of the year's musical calendar and this year is no exception. Having had eight of the 12 acts live in session on my 6 Music show over the past year, I know the competition will be fierce and the judges are going to have a tough decision to make on the night. I can't wait!"

On the run-up to Mercury Prize day 6 Music presents special hour-long documentaries on each Mercury-nominated act, narrated by the artists themselves, which explore the influences that inspired their album.

After broadcast, each Complete Mercury documentary will be downloadable as a podcast and all 12 podcasts will be available to download on 7 September from bbc.co.uk/6music.

The ´óÏó´«Ã½'s comprehensive coverage of the event continues online at bbc.co.uk/mercuryprize with news updates, photos, comprehensive biographies of each nominee plus live performances from each artist and the winner's announcement and interview.
