bbcmundo.com launches multimedia service on El-Nacional in Venezuela

´óÏó´«Ã½ World Service's multimedia service for the Spanish-speaking world, ´óÏó´«Ã½ Mundo, has launched an online partnership with El-Nacional.com, one of the leading sites in Venezuela.

The agreement, which comes into force today, means that the multimedia content from bbcmundo.com, including full-text items and videos, will be carried by El-Nacional.com. The website will also feature a dedicated ´óÏó´«Ã½ section.

Heather Maclean, Head of Business Development, Americas Region, ´óÏó´«Ã½ World Service, says: "Venezuela is the fifth largest single-country provider of traffic to bbcmundo.com. Thanks to this new partnership, our online content in text and video becomes directly available to users of El Nacional.

"We are delighted with this development, which will further expand our presence in Venezuela."

Miguel Henrique Otero, CEO CA, Editora El Nacional, says: "At El Nacional we are always searching for ways to optimise our news processes. This content agreement with a prestigious media organisation like ´óÏó´«Ã½ Mundo will enable our online audience to have access to content updated on a daily basis."

Venezuela is the sixth largest internet Spanish-speaking market in Latin America, with some 6.7m internet users.
