Big Dawg seeks Little Dawg... 1Xtra's Tim Westwood seeks "The Intern"

Calling all Westwood fans... do you think you have what it takes to be "The Intern" to one of the UK's biggest DJs? Well, the Big Dawg himself is looking for an intern to hang out with him for a week, helping broadcast his daily ´óÏó´«Ã½ Radio 1Xtra show to the nation!

On Monday 8 November, Tim Westwood launched a search to find "The Intern", giving 1Xtra fans the opportunity to battle it out for the chance to spend a week with Westwood, learning all the tips of the trade and having some serious fun in the process.

Tim Westwood says: "I'm on the look out for some new blood for my show. I want to find an Intern. Only serious contenders should apply!"

The Intern will spend a week working on Tim Westwood's show, carrying out a variety of tasks and challenges including talent handling show guests, working with other programmes to get gossip, keeping a blog and much more.

But, in return for getting some incredible hands on experience, The Intern will also have to get stuck into slightly less glamorous tasks, carrying out chores for the Big Dawg.

The process starts with applicants telling Westwood and his team, in 150 words or less, why they think they've got what it takes to make his life easier at work and how they would contribute to the show. The form can be filled in on the .

From the entries the team will pick three finalists, who will have to undergo five further tasks. The winner will be announced on 30 November after a live studio final.

Applicants must be over 18 and have until 7pm on Friday 12 November to submit their entry.

The prize is a one week work experience placement between 1 and 7 December 2010 on Westwood's ´óÏó´«Ã½ Radio 1Xtra Show (Weekdays 4-7pm).
